Resistance

deers

” When we are in resistance, we give our power away to the very object of our resistance” An example in my life is my struggle to clean my Facebook news feeds of obnoxious posts from Fast and Furious. For more than a week, I politely requested the Facebook Admin to free my news feeds of such posts because they were crowding off my favorite posts from :pixels, Whisper of the Heart, Inspiration Garden, Creative pictures, Beautiful Garden etc. But Facebook posted even more!

Then my husband told me to simply ignore the posts. I felt better; but Facebook persisted. I am consoled by a line from “You Are the Answer.”:  “It is not God who kicks us out of his grace; it is we who drop out of the oneness, abundance and flow of life when we resist anything.”

Esther Hicks has this to say: “… you just set the tone, where you are by looking for things to appreciate. And by setting your tone in a very clear, deliberate way anything that doesn’t match it gravitates out of your experience, and any that does match gravitates into your experience. “

Energy Prescription

In my effort to educate my many fears I came across several insightful statements from my book Urban Shaman. I read about two kinds of interpretations: evaluation and analysis. I consider this helpful because I’m still trying to silence my monkey mind.

Way back in college I did a lot of analysis of literary pieces as an English major. Now I realize I wasn’t doing analysis but evaluation. No wonder I have been anxious. I was constantly passing judgments on people and events whether they were good or bad. And to think that till I was older than 60 years old I was still doing my school routine of nightly examination of conscience. You can imagine what this does to a judgmental ISTJ personality.

Fortunately The Energy Prescription book says: “Our human personality is not our true nature. Spirit is our true nature, and sometimes the old needs to die so that the new can be reborn.”

Age of Aquarius

According to Dr Christine Page: “Now as we face the Age of Aquarius, we are being asked to develop self-consciousness. Each of us must accept responsibility to fully embody our incarnated soul and hence together move forward in a collection of highly individuated connected beings.”

Indeed the above is such a stimulating statement. However, now that I am approaching 71 years and as I fight against elevated blood pressure readings, I choose not to get into the fray, much less get caught in the conlict between the Liberals and the Traditionalists especially in religion.

I can’t help but be grateful for an article by blog.action.org posted on Facebook exposing why the UNCRC has frontally
attacked the Vatican for its handling of sexual cases against the priests. I prefer the article of Bobit Avila of the Philippine Star – clearer tackling of the issue with implications for the Philippine situation.

Back to Dr Christine Page to explain my side:”…in an educational system that taught us there is one right answer to any question – and that it is held by someone else and understood only by a lot of mental effort… We were trained to ignore and mistrust our own instinctive and intuitive answers.”

The Body Cannot Lie

“That which is not expressed externally will through the Universal Law of Balance and Equilibrium need to be expressed internally to restore harmony.”

Dr. Christine Page continues: “Pain represents suppressed anger.”

The old pain on my upper right arm is back. I have been liberated from such pains for weeks. My no salt, no fat diet eliminated the pains. Could it be the cold – constricting my blood vessels. Or wait, days ago I consciously struggled against the unnecessary suffering of a relative who obviously wasn’t doing enough self- care. I was angry at what I perceived as martyrdom. Both our daughter and my husband warned me against fighting the battles of others. My blood pressure rose to its old level after weeks of new medicines, pineapple juice with reducol, and a no salt, no fat diet.

According to Joe Vitale: “You don’t purify the person, place or thing. You neutralize the energy you associate with that person, place or thing. So the first stage of Ho’oponopono is the purification of energy.”

“Not only does that energy get neutralized, it also gets released, so there’s a brand new state. Buddhists call it the void. The final step is that you allow the Divinity to come in and fill the void with Light.”

Travel, Way to Learn

Montessorri has self-correcting exercises with personal learnings without the the stigma of fear, shame, etc. In school so many years ago, perfection was the standard. Perfect quizzes, perfect behavior etc. At home it was a milder form of perfection softened by the love of our mom. In my childhood everyday was an adventure sometimes magical with my best friend, a neighbor. When not in my neighbor’s house or gardens I would be with my siblings playing group games that required number of members to be played. Definitely we were learning how to live harmoniously.

In Singapore in the 90s I was introduced to the Asian type of toilet without toilet bowls. I remember just staring at the porcelain hole on the ground. For one moment I entertained the idea that I had entered the men’s room by mistake. But I saw another woman as I entered.

It was so laborious, squatting and taking utmost care not to wet my capri pants. Nobody warned me about this.

In Sydney at McDonald”s near the Circular Quay, I witnessed how an attendant told a customer: “This is a store, not a hotel. We don’t have a men’s room.” I don’t remember the term he used for toilet or comfort room. But I was surprised at the classification of McDonald’s as a store.

Christmas and New Year in Sydney both fall in summer months. But I remember wearing a cardigan as we packed ourselves near the Opera House on New Year’s Eve waiting for the fireworks to greet the New Year. BYOB. I learned that this is the acronym for bring your own bottle.

At  the Victoria Building in Sydney is the famous rest room. A white woman frantically turned the top of the knobless faucet only to be surprised when the water gushed forth. I was proud of myself; our daughter oriented me to such an ingenious facility, a self automated faucet.

In Hongkong I was embarrassed when I laugh at the sign in Tropical Hut “Take Away”. It i the British fothe American “Take out”.

In Indonesia, when my husband was a lecturer, I committed a faux pax. I raised my fist to cheer for women empowerment. Luckily our host, the mayor, chose not to pay attention.

When I travel, I thank God for the resources that allowed me to travel but I assume a humble attitude because you can never know what or who you will encounter. I believe everybody does his/her best according to his/her level of consciousness.

“Everyone has a lens through which (he views) the world. Religions, philosophies, therapies, authors, speakers, gurus, and candlestick makers all perceive the world through a particular mind-set.” Joe Vitale
