My self-mastery is not driven by the religious idea of salvation much less by martyrdom. It is motivated by the type of self-esteem/self-confidence used in shamanistic paradigm for a joyful life.
Self-mastery is a necessary ingredient in living my adventure to explore what it is to be made to the image and likeness of God – something I learned from RELIGION during my childhood years onwards.
Self-mastery is my personal response to frustrations/disappointments over unmet expectations. After all, “Urban Shaman” has a practical reminder:
“Things and people are going to deviate (from my expectations) …simply out of CREATIVE SPONTANEITY if nothing else.”
“Creative Spontaneity” is interpreted by me to mean that as everyone else like me has his own pathway from and back to Source.
I believe that everyone else like myself has a SPECIFIC and UNIQUE purpose for coming to this life. Each one is an individuation of God manifested in this life. I gotthis from Neale Walsh.
Dr Christine Page shares my idea of self-direction:
“Imagine if your thoughts, words and actions were not judged on the basis of someone else’s dictates and experiences but as your own sense as to whether they resonated with a deeper truth within.”
Bente Hansen has chapters about this in her book “The New World of Self-Healing”.
Several know that beyond man-made rules there is n inner knowing of what is right and what is wrong. Religion calls this CONSCIENCE but I don’t think RELIGION takes this seriously!
When one s aware of one’s divinity there is no need for man-made rules. This is my belief and my experience!
Lately, I have met several who not knowing about their divinity LIVE by their INNER sense of knowing and live far more exemplary lives than those with RELIGION!
Once more Dr Page has something that guides me:
“This may sound too radical but this is the way of the future, where PERSONAL and INNER morality guide an individual’s activities not man-made rules fully appreciative that there is nothing we do, say or think that doesn’t affect someone else somewhere and EVENTUALLY RETURN TO US.”
Self-correcting like the Montessorri tools for learning!
